Carnivals are one of the most popular fundraising events that schools hold. The difference between a "blah" carnival and a wildly successful one is often a matter of proper organization. Winning events involve more than setting up a couple of inflatable rentals and ordering pizza. Marketing and recruiting in particular are critical if you want the carnival to meet your fundraising goals.Creating the Plan:
Carnivals involve a lot people and activity, so it's easy for everyone to get confused about their roles. It is important to have a clear strategy so that everyone involved knows what to do.
Start by creating committees that are responsible for different events and duties. A large event can easily have half a dozen or more separate groups of people, each focusing on a particular part of the carnival. Separate teams would handle food, facilities, ticket sales, advertising, recruiting volunteers, and so on. There also needs to be a coordinating committee that oversees all the others.
Come up with a unifying theme for the event. A theme makes the event more fun and can make planning easier. Popular themes could be 50s Sock Hop, Alien Invasion, Renaissance Fair, and lots of others. Before committing to the date, check out what other activities are planned in the community. You'd hate to end up competing against a popular city festival or, worse yet, another school.
Recruit Vendors and Volunteers:

Make sure to show your gratitude to the volunteers, sponsors, and donors or you will find them reluctant to help in the future. When ever you travel to a carnival you will find that there are many different types of carnival rides for you to select from. Sometimes you can visit a petting farm so that your children can interact with the small animals. The Essence of Carnival

Derived from the word carnovale meaning 'to put away the meat', Carnival is a traditional celebration dating back hundreds of years to a Catholic practice of celebration the first day of Lent with a celebration the night before. As Catholics are not meant to consume meat or other animal products during the period of Lent, carnovale became the name applied to the festival of using up all remaining meat and animal products before the period of fasting began. This forbiddance is believed to be responsible for the association of eggs with Easter at the end of Lent
As the carnivals in Italy became more famous and known about, they spread through Spain and France to all Catholic countries. As the Spanish and Portuguese began to explore the Americas they took and integrated the practise of celebrating carnival with them. The next big influence on carnival was the slave trade and the impact of the African cultures.
African traditions of parading in circles through villages whilst wearing costumes and masks was believed to bring good fortune and drive away evil spirits returning them to the next world. Carnival has borrowed from these African traditions through the use of costumes and masks. The early costumes and masks used natural objects to create the costume/mask with each representing a spiritual force. The African influence extends to the use of drum rhythms, puppets, stilt walkers all now fully integrated in Carnival.
Across the world where Catholic colonies were established and the slave trade entered into, carnival remains strongest. Brazil, once a Portuguese colony holds a world-renowned carnival as does Louisiana where African-Americans mixed with the French settlers and indigenous Americans. Carnival celebrations are now integral to life across the Caribbean.
Carnival has become extended into a season with the celebration ending on Mardi-Gras. This is the cross-over between Carnovale (farewell the meat) and Mardi-Gras (Fat Tuesday – from the French). Both are celebrated, in their truest sense, the day before Lent commences on Ash Wednesday. 'Fat Tuesday' and Carnovale are therefore the last opportunity to celebrate before fasting begins. Mardi-Gras, Carnovale are also known as 'Shrove Tuesday' or 'Pancake Day' which is all that survives of Carnival following the Reformation in England.
The Mardi-Gras season officially starts on Twelfth Night which occurs 12 days after Christmas with Mardi-Gras day being 46 days before Easter. Today the whole Carnival season is marked by celebrations, parties, dance and music. Most celebrations and parties involve the wearing of costumes usually brightly coloured. County Fair Game Review
Fairs are always fun and it's always a wonder on how to operate them. County Fair is a casual game built upon the idea of operating your own fair and making it the talk of the town. And as temporary as fairs go, the time management mechanics fit well to the game's overall idea.
Honestly, the story of County Fair is as cliché as they go. You start off as an ordinary Joe but then after some bizarre twist of fate, you are given the rights to a string of fairs your far-off relative named Russ Pendleton owns. However, all is not with glitz and glamour as you might expect. Because the fairs are all ailing, and you have to get them back on track before they can make you some money for a living.
In each level of the game, you are given specific tasks to fulfill until the day the fair will have to close. Most of the time, you have to earn enough money for your next venture, but requests will come from each county, making you build specific rides to cater to your patrons' wishes. All you have to do is to build as requested, spread word about your newly opened fair, and keep your fair running and maintained as a stable cash machine.
Fulfilling objectives in County Fair is not as easy as it sounds though, but nothing really complicated after the brief tutorial at the beginning of the game. You have multiple tasks just like in simulation games, like building and upgrading rides and shops, hiring park workers, keeping your park energized and setting up advertisements to spread the buzz about the fair. Furthermore, you can also dictate all the prices, and depending on how the prices go steal or greedy, park popularity will also fluctuate in response to the change.
